Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you so much for considering Edme Therapy. I’m honored you’re here and taking this step toward support and healing. I know that finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, and I want to make the process as clear and comfortable as possible. Below, you’ll find answers to some frequently asked questions about my approach, areas of expertise, and how to get started. My goal is to help you feel informed and empowered as you explore whether working together feels like the right fit.

1. What is your therapeutic approach?

At Edme Therapy, I take a relational, trauma-informed approach that honors your lived experience, identity, and cultural background. With 20 years of experience, I support individuals, couples, and families in working through trauma, attachment wounds, and relationship challenges. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can reconnect with parts of yourself, explore your story, and begin to shift long-standing patterns—from the inside out.

2. What therapeutic modalities do you use?

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I offer an integrative and compassionate approach to healing, including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients explore and connect with their internal “parts” with compassion.

  • Brainspotting to access and release deeply held trauma stored in the brain and body.

  • Somatic and mindfulness-based practices to support regulation and nervous system healing.

I tailor sessions to your feedback, needs, and goals—so you always feel supported and empowered.

Sliding Scale:

My goal is to make therapy as accessible as possible while also maintaining a sustainable private practice. I understand that financial situations can be complex and are often influenced by much more than income alone. Reduced-fee rates are determined collaboratively using client self-report and consideration of factors such as income, dependents, medical expenses, debt, caregiving responsibilities, and other life circumstances. Documentation is not required. I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee appointments based on financial need and availability. My standard rate is $200 per hour, and I offer a reduced-fee range of $100–160 for clients needing additional financial flexibility. I also hold a limited number of spots through the Open Path Collective  which offers a sliding scale of $40 - $80. I currently have a waitlist for Open Path clients.

6. How do I get started?

I offer a free 30-minute via telehealth/video consultation, or in person by request, so you can ask questions, share your needs and goals, and get a feel for whether we’re a good fit. You can request one through the Client Portal or by contacting me directly via phone, text, or email. If we decide we’re a good match, we will move forward with beginning therapy. If not, I am happy to help you find trusted providers that may be a better match.
